Shipping Policy
Last Updated: September 2026
At Tebbys (accessible via https://tebbys.com), this page sets out how an order travels from the moment you place it to the moment it lands at your door, and what we do at each point where something can go sideways.
Knitwear tends to be bought with a particular stretch of weather in mind, or a trip, or a room you already know runs cold. A vague promise about delivery is not much use against that, so the figures below are the ones we actually work to, and they are the same figures quoted everywhere else on this site.
By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms set out below. If something about your delivery is not answered here, email us at [email protected] and we will be glad to help.

Where We Ship
We ship to street addresses in the United States. We are not currently set up for P.O. Boxes, APO and FPO addresses, US territories, or international destinations, and an order to one of those will be held rather than quietly canceled. If your situation falls just outside one of these, write to us anyway. Some destinations we can work around, and finding that out takes one email.
The Flat Rate
Shipping is $4.95 per order. One sweater or four, light or heavy, near or far, the charge is the same and it is shown before you confirm payment. There are no dimensional surcharges, no fuel adjustments, and no handling fee added on afterward.
Sales tax is calculated at checkout where applicable.
The Order Cutoff, and What It Actually Means
Orders placed before 5:00 PM EST on a business day join that day’s queue. Anything that arrives after 5:00 PM EST, or on a weekend or a public holiday, starts on the next business day.
The cutoff is about when the clock starts, not when the parcel leaves. An order placed at 4:00 PM EST on a Tuesday will not usually be in a carrier van that evening; it means Tuesday counts as day one of handling rather than Wednesday.
Handling
Handling takes 1–3 business days. That covers pulling the piece, checking it against the order, folding it so the shoulders do not arrive creased into points, and generating the label. Knitwear is packed folded rather than rolled, because a roll sets a crease along the body that takes days to relax out.
Transit and Total Delivery Estimate
Once the parcel is with the carrier, transit runs 5–7 business days depending on how far it has to go. Added to handling, that gives a total estimate of 6–10 business days from the order to the doorstep.
Business days are Monday to Friday and exclude public holidays. The estimate is an estimate, not a guarantee, and the section on delays below explains what happens when it slips.
Carriers
We ship with USPS, UPS, and FedEx. The carrier is chosen by destination and by what is moving fastest on that route at the time, so the one that carries your order may differ from the one that carried the last. The carrier is named in your shipping email.
Tracking
A tracking number is emailed as soon as the parcel is handed over. Scans often take up to 24 hours to appear, and a number that shows nothing on the first evening is normal rather than a sign that something has gone wrong. You can follow the parcel from our Order Tracking page at any time.
If the tracking has not moved for four consecutive business days, email us and we will open a trace with the carrier rather than wait for you to chase it.
Split Shipments
Occasionally an order is split across two parcels, usually because the pieces are held in different places. When that happens you receive a tracking number for each parcel and you are charged once. There is no second $4.95.
Address Accuracy
Addresses come through exactly as they are typed at checkout, including the apartment line that gets left off more often than anything else. If you spot a mistake, email us straight away with the order number and the corrected address. If the parcel has not gone out we simply fix it, and if it has, we contact the carrier on your behalf and try to have it redirected. Carriers do not always agree to a redirect, but the attempt costs you nothing and it works more often than people expect.
Undeliverable and Returned Parcels
If a parcel comes back to us as undeliverable, we email you the same day we receive it. You can have it sent out again to a corrected address at no extra shipping charge, or take a full refund of the order including the original $4.95.
Lost or Stolen Parcels
If tracking says delivered and nothing is there, tell us. We open the carrier trace ourselves, and a loss confirmed by the carrier ends in a replacement or a full refund including the original shipping charge, at your choice.
Two things are worth doing while the trace runs, because they resolve a surprising share of cases: check with anyone else at the address and look in the places carriers use when nobody answers, and ask a neighbor whether a parcel was taken in. Either way, open the case with us on the same day and we will run it in parallel.
Damaged Parcels
If the parcel or the piece inside arrives damaged, email us within 7 days of delivery with a photograph of the item and of the packaging. Those cases jump the queue and end in a replacement or a full refund including the original shipping charge. Usually there is no need to send anything back. When there is, we email a prepaid return label that covers the whole journey.
Delays
Weather, carrier backlogs, and peak volume all slow things down at certain points in the year. When we can see that an order is running behind, we email you before you have to ask.
If a delay defeats the point of the order, you have two ways out even after the parcel has left. You can refuse delivery at the door, or accept it and email us for a prepaid return label. Either route ends in a full refund including the original shipping charge, and the mechanics are set out on our Return & Refund Policy page.
Holiday Schedule
We do not ship on public holidays, and carriers run reduced services around them. Handling and transit both stretch during those weeks, so an order placed close to a holiday should be given a few extra days. Any closure longer than a normal holiday is posted on the website in advance.
Returns and Cancellations
Returns, including the free prepaid label, are covered on our Return & Refund Policy page. Changing or canceling an order before it goes out is covered on our Cancel & Change Order Policy page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as carrier arrangements change. The revised version applies from the date shown at the top of the page, and orders already placed are handled under the terms that were in force when you ordered.
